Come along and enjoy the displays by Redlands best community associations.

Wynnum Redlands Budgerigar Society, Bayside Woodturners & Woodcrafters Club, Eastern District Orchid Society & Redlands Orchid Society, bee keeping and honey, Homegrown and Homemade delicacies and crafts, our delectable local produce, Redlands Creative Alliance, Redland City Gymsports, Cleveland Air Magic, Bayside Flyball Dogs and the Redland Museum.

All the displays will do their best to answer any questions from the Public.

Whilst we are still retaining our competition in the various categories of Vegetables, Fruit, Horticulture, Cakes, Jams, Preserves, Needlework etc, we wanted to look further afield to see where these various items started their life.  They of course do not just start out on the supermarket shelf but they start as seeds hence the title “Seeds of Life”.  From here they go on to help sustain life everywhere around the world.

Birds

All weekend there will be displays of some magnificent budgerigars, canaries and finches by the Wynnum Redlands Budgerigar Society. A great chance to view these beautiful birds. Members from the Club will be in attendance to answer any questions relating to the keeping and care of Budgerigars. On Saturday morning the budgerigars will be judged for the best of the Variety.  There will be interesting talks across the weekend on all things bird.

Bees

The Bee Keeper will have on display a working hive with clear viewing panels along a display of many different varieties of honey by Capilano Honey.

Woodturning

Bayside Woodturners & Woodcrafters Club will have a display of many different forms of wood work produced by Members of the Club.  Much of the work on display will be for sale at very good prices.

During Saturday & Sunday, Members from the Club will present a short talk on the enjoyment of producing wooden articles from, in lots of cases, recycled timber.

Orchids and Cordylines

All weekend there will be displays put on by members of the Redlands and Eastern Districts Orchid Societies.  Not only will you see some magnificent orchids, there will be informative talks throughout the festival on how to grow them. There may even be some plants for sale depending on the season. The Cordyline Society will present a magnificent display of coloured foliage plants.

Homegrown and Homemade

Homegrown and homemade agricultural displays and competitions are back by popular demand with home cooks, bakers, gardeners and craft makers creating stunning masterpieces utilising products and flavours sourced from across the Redlands.

Got an extraordinary family home recipe you are ready to show the world? What about a handcrafted sculpture or needle point? Maybe it is your very own modern-day website or a cake design. Perhaps you have a Lego design you wish to showcase; something you have crafted using a 3D printer; have done one of the Diamond Dot designs; Mosaics; a piece of artwork or anything you have created in 2020/2021.

If you have created it, made it or formed it during COVID – 19 restrictions 2020/21 then RedFest is the place to display your talent to the community as well as visitors to RedFest.

Everyone is invited to enter their creations, both adults, students, those with disabilities and seniors. Participation is FREE! Participants must submit completed entry form online by 27 August 2021.  Click Here to Enter

Redlands Harvest

Come and see the fabulous display of locally grown fruit and vegetables with particular focus on our Festival Hero, the Strawberry.

On the final afternoon of the Festival, there will be a sale of the exhibited goods where you will find plenty of bargains to be had! Money raised will be distributed to local charities.

Strawberries will also be available for sale at this venue throughout the weekend.

Redlands Creative Alliance

Redland’s Creative Alliance Inc will have a wonderful presentation of artists from several genres at RedFest called ‘Artist’s Conversations’. This is our third year at RedFest. It’s an opportunity to view the artworks and crafts while having conversations with the artists who created them. Some artists offer classes and will talk about those, while others practice art therapy. There’ll be paintings, printmaking, photography, ceramics and pottery – with demonstrations and plenty of hand-created objects to browse and buy.

See our website at www.redlandscreativealliance.org or search for us on Facebook.

Albert Morris Pavilion (AMP)

Redland City Gymsports is excited to be joining RedFest this year and welcomes the opportunity to showcase the club’s gym and athletes at the Redlands major community event.

In addition to displays by State, National and International competitors at peak times across the weekend, young visitors to RedFest will be able to come and try gymnastics and trampoline classes.

Redland City Gymsports operates in the Albert Morris Pavilion, which is centrally located in the Showgrounds sporting hub at Cleveland. The not-for-profit club has been offering recreational and competitive programs for toddlers to teens in a fun, healthy, family-friendly environment since 1983.

Joe Howell Building

RedFest is proud once again to include the Redland Museum in its program for 2021.  Explore Redlands Coast’s vibrant arts and rich heritage by visiting Redland Museum which is showcasing colourful and vibrant local artworks, local history and festival memorabilia displays.  As well as these amazing displays, Devonshire Teas will be served on the verandah.  The Museum will be open only to RedFest patrons during the festival.

Strawberry Fields

Bayside Flyball Racing will be running their competition on Saturday.  If you have never seen this event, you don’t know what you are missing out on.  Dogs of all breeds compete in a race over hurdles, then with dexterity release a ball from a platform, then return over all the hurdles.  This is not only done as a solo event, it is also done in relays. It is fast and furious and highly entertaining to watch.

Laserforce

Creating fun since 1988, Laserforce is Brisbane’s original laser tag and is also the longest running site in the world. Laserforce is competitive and exciting for all ages. Laserforce is coming to RedFest for the first time this year. Come and try your luck in the inflatable arena on Strawberry Fields.
